Thank you guys for the advice. Just shot up and we'll see what happens......
Hello folks, because of insurance issues, I've been w/o Humira for 6 weeks. Has anyone here paused Humira and then gone back to their "maintenance" dose or did you have to inject the starter dose...
Talk with your Humira Ambassador. They might be able to help or at least point you in the right direction....
Thank you all for sharing similar concerns... Doc said results (Tricore?) takes 5 days. Staying in absolute isolation for now. Luckily for me, it's Wagner Week at metopera.org :)...
Nasal swab, yes. Live in a very rural town (Ski Resort) so we don't have access to the fancy tests. Doc also tested the usual stuff they always run: temp check, listened to lungs, etc. All checked...
I've had a persistent cough for a little over a week with no other symptoms associated with COVID-19, but out of "an abundance of caution" blah blah blah, decided to ask my PCP if I should be...
Has anyone any experience with this medicine? Someone has recently reached out to me to see if I'd be interested in a clinical investigation... Thanks!...
Augmentin...
Always after alcohol (maybe because of carbonated mixers)....
iPoop nailed it....
Lots of "Bro' Science" here; but very interesting nevertheless....
After my response above, I remembered that not all pain is created equal so quickly searched for a more targeted study of Gabapentin use by dentists and came across the following:...
My plastic surgeon had me on adjuvant Gabapentin along with my usual cocktail of tramadol and tylenol with the blessings of my GI after some rather intrusive work and with no adverse effects....
damo123: to answer your question regarding other extraintestinal manifestations: Yes. It's a supposedly rare endocrine condition, for which there are a handful of clinicians that deal with it....
Thank you all so much for the replies. And Straydog and Quincy were spot on. Chronic kidney disease, turns out......
Sounds crazy, but my 75 year old father went to the ER, cause: fatigue, lack of appetite, unwell ness, etc. Symptoms: Blood in stools, extreme fatigue, shortness of breath. Lab work known and...
(I don't mean to hijack this thread, but...) MomOfUCBoy: What does your son take for the inflammation???...
Have you read Bruce J's novella ?...
Wait, "they missed it"?! Why don't they go back in and find it? Not even to biopsy? Sounds a little sketchy....
Write it! Who knows? it might be the seedling for research or further exploration....
For sure! knees, and feet. But since Humira, nothing....
Curious to know when your last scope was and what it (and biopsies) showed. My GUESS is that it may be time to move up the ladder to a biologic that works comparatively fast, like Humira??? Best of...
Just got refilled with Mylan's generic. Doing perfectly well on Zydus's generic so it's annoying. Has anyone gone from Zydus to Mylan? I've read on here of some folks having had adverse effects from...
At what age would someone with UC start getting a bone scan to check? Anyone?...
oh yay - it's fixed! I didn't realize earlier when I posted that I had just read "Page 1"... duh...
A case of "too little too late", but write a formal letter in as much legalese as you can and XC every top-of-the-line supervisor/manager/doctor/insurance and send it certified. At the very least...
Uff, sorry to hear. And a sincere thanks for the wakeup. I myself have gotten too complacent and have certainly taken for granted my luck so far, skipping meds whenever, etc. Your misery has made me...
Quincy -- budesonide. It put me on remission (w/ Humira) and I guess I just don't understand how some folks here don't see the dangers associated with remaining on a biologic for the rest of your...
Please note: Not all budesonide is created equal. Uceris (9mg tablet) is more suitable for UC and the generic version was only approved last summer. Your insurance likely has approved the Entocort...
for the record tho, no mention on any scientific lit on this yet that I can find. Just sayin'...
Thank you all for taking the time to reply to my question :) I guess in the end it doesn't really matter who defines what as that and why......
I've noticed here how several armchair GIs define remission in terms of being steroid-free. Could someone kindly point me in the right direction of the lit out there that would preclude...
OMG, so sorry you're going through what I experienced! weird how rare it is to find a post like this - even my docs looked at me like I was a martian when I was going through it. Please know that our...
Please reach out should anyone need "free advice" on how to obtain sealed access to these....
Consider low dose (10mg) chlordiazepoxide + 20mg propranolol (when heartbeat rate goes up) for a short run and take it from there....

Imuran was not advisable to me because I'm a "young male"... Apparently it's riskier than a biologic if you feel that demo...
All in, I'll be 8 months of 9mg Uceris. All the usual markers (FC, CRP, ESR) are normal, colonoscopy + pathology = "unremarkable". When I asked GI about his approach to budesonide, he attributed to...
My GI suggested continued Uceris for 6 months (I'm on month #3, of remission)....
Thank you guys for chiming in. I had read as much about Uceris and will stay on it for one more month. And I'll just hoard the next 5 refills and save them for a rainy day I guess....
Happy to announce I am officially in remission! Been symptom free since December and all inflammatory markers (crp, sed rate, fcal) have been undetectable also. Colonoscopy last week (with biopsies)...
My original diagnosis of UC happened a year ago. This year, I was forced to find a new GI because of insurance changes, and my new GI ordered a small bowel series XR to rule out CD. Still waiting for...
@Iamcurious: Trump's FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb is pretty chummy with the 'bros over at BigPharma and your prediction about it's near certain "drug" ruling might prove to be correct. His other...

hard to beat Halbert's list.....
came across this happenstance (I'm a UC'er; husband a Pca'er). You ought to submit this to the Paris Review. Very moving....
Not much to add here, all great comments above. However, if you're male, please acquaint yourself with the associated risks of AZA given your age. Otherwise, please disregard my contribution here......
Thanks IPoop for posting this. I will ask for a PSA test next time I see my PCP....
